Sinon, sur une note plus positive, Nylon Mag a publié son
top 20 des albums de l'année, qui n'est pas des moindres. En effet, deux de mes groupes préférés y apparaissent, dont Two Door Cinema Club en première position. (:D)
"6. Foals - Total Life Forever
This is not the Foals we thought we knew. For a start, you can understand what front man Yannis Philippakis is saying here, which is a refreshing change from their previous effort, Antidotes. But that’s not the only difference: the music, too, is clear-eyed and expansive (the standout track, “Spanish Sahara,” is almost seven minutes long for goodness sake!), and more than anything, it’s confident. This confidence occasionally borders on audacity but these songs are all the better for it: with killer hooks, a ton of reverb, and the kind of rousing percussion you wouldn’t want to invite home to meet your mother. 1. Two Door Cinema Club, Tourist History
Back in 2002, a program called Hit Song Science predicted, with mathematic precision, that Norah Jones’s debut album, Come Away With Me, would be a massive success. When the program’s scientists fed Jones’s sultry jazz tunes into their computer, fireworks practically went off: her melodies, harmonies, tempos, and chord progressions added up to musical crack.

It’s unlikely Irish pop band Two Door Cinema Club underwent the same testing, but we’re sure that their debut album, Tourist History, would have measured off the charts. This is dizzyingly fun pop music, indebted to XCT and the Futureheads, but still utterly fresh and electrifying. Each element—from the jangly guitars and earnest vocals to the twitchy electro beats and prominent bass—is a drug, and, when combined, form the most addictive substance known to man. It’s impossible to listen to Tourist History just once. It’s practically impossible to listen to it only once a day. We should know. Since March—when its glorious 10 tracks landed in our mailbox—we’ve probably played it 500 times. At least. We’ve seen them perform live twice, may or may not have purchased T-shirts, and are counting the days until we can wear them in the front row of their next show. Is Tourist History the “best” album of the year? Who knows. Is it our favorite? Without a doubt.

Si vous n'avez pas compris, dites-vous simplement que Foals et TDCC sont respectivement 6ème et premier du top, ce qui est déjà pas mal.
